There are weddings that feel like a fairytale, and then there are weddings that seem to have stepped straight out of one. Pooja and Yuvraj’s wedding was exactly that.
For us at Dhanika Choksi Photography, it was the kind of wedding that naturally lent itself to an editorial and documentary style approach, allowing the atmosphere, people and little in-between moments to tell the story.

The Tale of Two Lovers on an Adventure
Every love story is an adventure of its own. And for Pooja and Yuvraj, their wedding was the beautiful finale to one chapter and the beginning of another.
They had always dreamed of doing something different for their big day, something unexpected, immersive and completely their own. And this celebration was truly a testament to that vision.
A very special part of bringing that vision to life was Pooja’s sister, Devika, a wedding decor designer who went completely all out for her little sister. With so much thought, creativity and love poured into every detail, she transformed the space into something that felt almost otherworldly.
And you could feel that love everywhere.
As guests made their way through the beautiful farm setting, they were transported to what felt like the lavender fields of the European countryside. Soft florals, romantic hues and an effortlessly elegant setting created the illusion of Provence, tucked away in the heart of an Indian wedding.
But the beauty was in the balance.
The European countryside aesthetic was beautifully complemented by the warmth, colour and emotion of an Indian wedding. The result was a celebration that felt worldly yet deeply rooted, elegant yet warm, and above all, completely personal to Pooja and Yuvraj.
It was their own little piece of Provence, brought to life with an unmistakably Indian heart.
Pooja looked breathtaking in a blush pink Sabyasachi Mukherjee bridal lehenga.
The soft blush of her bridal outfit worked beautifully against the lavender-inspired wedding decor, creating a romantic and sophisticated colour palette.
Yuvraj wore a timeless cream-white sherwani, complementing Pooja without taking away from the softness of the overall aesthetic.
Together, they looked as though they had stepped into their own little corner of Provence, surrounded by flowers, family, friends and the people who had travelled through their lives with them.
Pooja’s Haldi and Chura ceremony was, hands down, one of our favourite functions of the entire wedding.
While everyone is celebrating and rejoicing in the union of two families and two lovers, there is another emotion quietly sitting underneath it all, the feeling that, for the bride, one chapter of her life is coming to an end.
And perhaps that is what makes the Haldi and Chura so emotional.
There is joy, excitement, laughter and celebration, but there are also those quiet moments when everything suddenly feels real.
Pooja was surrounded by her family and closest friends, and the day unfolded with an abundance of warmth, love and happy tears.
Keeping everything Pooja wanted to experience in mind, the celebrations were planned around making the day feel exactly that warm, intimate, joyful and full of memories she could carry with her into this next chapter.
For us, these are the moments that make wedding photography so meaningful.
The tears that appear unexpectedly.
The hugs that last a little longer.
The laughter between friends.
The look on a parent's face.
The small pauses between all the celebrations when the bride gets a moment to simply take everything in.
These moments may not always be planned, but they often become the photographs that mean the most.
A Boho-Chic Mehendi & Engagement
The Mehendi and Engagement was a beautiful reflection of Pooja and Yuvraj’s personalities intimate, relaxed and completely their own.
With just seven hours to transform the space, the raw venue became a warm boho-chic Mehendi celebration, filled with sustainable elements, home furniture and thoughtful details.
The couple wanted their Indian wedding decor to feel simple and homely rather than overly produced, and the rawness of the space became the perfect canvas.
The result was an inviting boho lounge that felt less like a decorated venue and more like a beautifully styled version of home — warm, personal and surrounded by the people they love.
A reminder that beautiful Mehendi decor in India doesn't always need to be extravagant. Sometimes, the most memorable celebrations are the ones that feel the most like you.
For their Mehendi and Sangeet, the colour story shifted beautifully.
Pooja stepped out in a stunning powder blue organza lehenga, bringing an airy, playful elegance to the evening.
Yuvraj matched her in a dusty blue bandhgala, creating a beautifully coordinated yet understated look for the celebrations.
And then the evening came alive.
There were songs performed by Pooja’s friends, heartfelt speeches, laughter and dances that kept the celebrations going late into the night.
The Sangeet wasn't simply a series of performances. It felt like a collection of stories being told through music, movement and memories.
Friends took the stage, speeches brought out laughter and tears, and the dance floor became exactly what it should be at a wedding, a place where everyone could forget about the camera and simply celebrate.
A lot of love.
And a wedding we were incredibly happy to photograph.
